Scrapbook Saturday

Apologies for being quiet for a while. Lots going on personally and in the Stampin’ Up! world that has been keeping me very busy.  Today I want to share a few more pictures from last months scrapbook club.

This is Janice’s layout

This is one of Wendy’s pages, I love that there were some really different pages created even though everyone got the same kit.

A few days later Wendy emailed me a picture of her second page, it’s lovely don’t you think!

Fab, fast father’s day card with washi tape.

Today’s post is going to be a fast one too :)

The new this and that journalling range is so lovely! I knew once I got my hands on it that there was so much more than just journalling that it could be used for.  Recently I was asked to make some post friendly Father’s day cards by a friend.  I featured the first of them in yesterday’s video – I hope you enjoyed it.  I was VERY nervous making it.

So here’s today’s card.

2013-06-09 21.04.33

A really simple card but I like it lots, I’ve stuck the washi tape down at an angle, I haven’t been super accurate and I’ve overlapped in places so that you see the translucency of the tape.  I’ve used the Happy Father’s day stamp from delightful dozen and coloured in the open letters using markers to co-ordinate with the epic day designer washi tape.

Hope you like today’s card.  Come back again soon.

It worked!..................My first video

So here it is.... my very first crafting video.  I hope you like it, hopefully I can make more.  The process wasn't too painful.  Let me know what you think and come back soon.

Scrapbook Saturday….. a day late :)

Good afternoon! Apologies for being late with this weeks Scrapbook installment.  I was on a course yesterday morning and the rest of the day was family time. I’ve also been working on something that hopefully I can share soon too.

Our monthly scrapbook club met last Tuesday so today (and maybe next week too) I am going to share some pictures from that.  Georgie (my lovely downline) and I decided that we wanted to work with the scrummy Comfort Cafe DSP.  This is my double page layout.  We decided to go for hidden pictures and journalling this time this sort of layout lends itself really nicely to making it into a book by adding more pages and spines – hmm a project for later.

2013-06-04 09.25.03

I've used the retiring background stamp called Parlour Prints, I stamped in Illuminate ink onto Midnight Muse cardstock.  The flower in the centre is a non SU product but keep an eye out for some exciting news.
  2013-06-04 09.25.24

The triangles are actually the postage stamp cut in half, and you may just be able to see that I've used the ‘splodge’ from the soon to be retired French Foliage set.
  2013-06-04 09.25.40
This is one of Georgie’s pages we both design a slightly different layout.  That way everyone who comes get’s at least two ideas of what to do with their kit, there were so many variations this time, it was fab!  Georgie has used the ticket punch instead of the postage stamp.

2013-06-04 21.29.52

This is a page from Megan’s layout, Megan is quite new to the group but a very talented crafter :) I really like that she went for the blues only on this page.

That’s all for today, come back soon!

Something old, something NEW!

This morning I was extra pleased to see my UPS man!  He had my pre-order goodies :)  As a demonstrator we have access to some of the new items a month before the new catalogue officially launches, best of all we also have the chance to earn some of these at an extra discount or even FREE.

So the title of today’s post is not in anyway wedding related it actually means just what it says.  I had a lovely afternoon today designing and making some customer thank – you cards using one of my very favourite sentiment sets.  I am very sad that Curly Cute is retiring but no doubt I will fall in love with something else.  I've also used lots of new products – colours, a stamp set, a punch and an embossing folder.  The last three products on the list all co-ordinate :)

More butterflies

I mentioned last week that I was running my May Butterfly themed class 3 times, twice at my house and then a third time at the lovely Wendy’s for a group of her friends.  We all had such a fun time!  Today I wanted to share some of the ladies creations.

2013-05-30 19.54.18

I really like the Patio Party DSP and this layout allows you to showcase a few of the patterns, it’s surprising how different the card looks with various designs.

This is Barbara’s Swallowtail card, I really like that she’s gone for a more subtle effect than my original.

Come back soon – I’m showcasing some of the retiring items as well as a few sneak peeks over the coming weeks.

Easel Cards four ways...

I really like cards that are a bit different, that’s why I love easel cards.  There are so many different ways to approach them.  I've done standard ones like this one I did for my Sister and Brother in Law when they got married.

IMG00071-20100603-2102

A long while ago I did a tutorial on how to make a twisted easel card, like this one here.  If you want to see the tutorial click here.

IMG01038-20110112-2253

These are lots of fun but did you know that you can make shaped easel cards too?  This is where my bigshot and dies come into action.  There are two ways to make a shaped easel card.  The first is to do a standard easel but use a shape for the top mat like in this card that we made at my very first card class.

DSCF0443

The second way is to use the ‘shape’ to make the whole card base out of – I LOVE this method!  for this card I have used the Floral Frames Framelits and the coordinating Daydream Medallions stamp set along with some elements from the Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin’ Kit.  These kits are amazing value but they are retiring at the end of the month so get in touch soon if you’d like some!

2013-06-03 11.43.47

We made this card at a recent weekend craft class, and everyone put a slightly different twist on their card.  I really should make note of who’s card is whose when I take pictures!   Apologies ladies if either of these belong to you let me know.  In this one stamping has been added to give more interest to the inside of the card and the grey mat has been shaped to add texture.

DSCF2806

For this card instead of the basic grey mat, dsp has been used.  I also really like the way that the layers have been offset instead of lined up.

So lots of pictures but I hope you feel inspired to go and make some easel cards.  Come back soon!

Scrapbook Saturday

Hello! A later post than planned today as we spent the day with family enjoying the sunshine!  We haven’t had too much of it yet this year, so we were making the most of it.

As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I get to attend fantastic training events where there are loads of samples on display for inspiration.  I must have thousands of pictures saved on my computers of the display boards.  I can’t share my most recent layout with you today as it’s not quite finished so I thought I’d share some of the inspiration from training events I’ve been too.

The first one is from the 2012 convention in Mainz, Germany.  Convention is SO much fun, we get business training, the chance to meet up with friends and make new ones by swapping, we have a little party, we learn new techniques, get FREEBIES and even have a chance to craft too!  This year convention is in Manchester and I can’t wait!  If you’d like to come with me then click on the link on the left to join my team, the Dazzlin’ Daisies.  It’s so easy to do, it only takes 15minutes.  For just £99 you get £130 worth of product of your choice PLUS a business pack worth £45, including training materials and catalogues.

DSCF2369

I really like how the two tags die has been used as a mat for the picture, here’s a close up of the layout being demonstrated during one of the training sessions.  The two tags die is leaving us at the end of June :( If it's on your wish list you need to get in touch quick as it may sell out!

DSCF2345

The second layout I have to show you was designed by the very talented Joanne Gelnar for the recent training event in Telford, can you spot the BRAND NEW PRODUCT?

DSCF2870

I’m not going to say too much but imagine being able to make your own buttons and flowers to co-ordinate perfectly with any Stampin’ up! colour :)

That’s all for today, pop back soon!
