Still Here….

Sorry for the gap in Blogging, had a busy few days over the weekend and then our littlest was taken into hospital Sunday night after having a febrile convulsion.  Thankfully she seems much better though and is snuggled on the sofa as I type this, if she’s like her brother she might have a couple but will grow out of it.
For today I am sharing a project that was designed by my Upline Monica for our recent team training session.  The technique to create the rainbow is really cool, you scribble some ink from the fab Stampin’ Write markers onto some acetate and then spritz (we used homemade alcohol shimmer spray), lay a piece of crepe or water colour paper over the top and then use on your project.  Cute isn’t it!

Here’s a close up showing the dimension of the umbrella and the crepe paper ruffle on the side.

Scrapbook Saturday

Hello! Sorry for not blogging yesterday, it’s been a busy week.  For today I wanted to share two scrapbook layouts ‘from the archive’.  I met one of my downline, Georgie just over 2 years ago.  Quite soon she expressed an interest in running a scrapbook club but didn't want to do it on her own, I’d never done any scrapbooking but was willing to ‘give it a go’ – I'm so pleased I did!
This first one is my very first attempt at scrapbooking ever!  Very clean and simple, we wanted to focus on a couple of techniques and I remember this one was punching and different ribbon methods.

Some beautiful pictures of my little angel taken by Debbie at Ido! Photographic when she was only four weeks old.

This next one focused on texture and making your own embellishments, here a pinwheel and a flower.  Each of the panels is a different texture or pattern.  We also dyed some linen thread too.

Traditionally a pinwheel is made from a square of paper but this one was actually four triangles, this enabled us to achieve the two tone finish.  You can also see the spotty embossed finish on the yellow square.

Here’s a close up of the flower, I made this using the build a blossom punch.

I hope you like today’s shares, come back soon for more.  Happy Crafting!

A Happy Birthday Cuppa

Good morning!  A quick post for today, I've got another ribbon trim card to share.  I made this along with Monday’s card when I had all my bits out prepping for last month’s class.  I've used a crumb cake base with Baja Breeze and a touch of Island Indigo.  Baja Breeze is another of the 10 colours that retires at the end of June – don’t miss out contact me to order yours today.

I first inked the cup stamp from ‘Tea Shoppe’ in Baja Breeze and then used an Island Indigo marker to accent the flowers.  That's me for today, happy crafting! x

Good news!

I should have shared this news ages ago!  The petite curly label punch that was part of the SAB promotion is now available to purchase.

label punch

It’s a really cute little punch and a bargain at only £11.50.  Best of all it co-ordinates with the ‘Ciao Baby’ stamp set from the spring mini catalogue.

ciao baby

That's all for today, happy crafting x

Pretty ribbon trim

Hello!  For today I have a really pretty card to show you.  I've used pretty in pink card stock for the base, this is one of the 10 colours that is retiring at the end of June so make sure you get your order in soon if you want some.  This card uses the chevron stamp from ‘Oh Hello!’ I've used markers in the red/pink spectrum, I also used a marker on the sentiment from ‘Curly Cute’ and stamped the words separately instead of using the sentiment lengthways.

DSCF2754

I used the same markers directly on the ribbon trim and graduated down the colour spectrum.  Once I’d done that I spritzed it with water and let it dry, here's a close-up.

I hope you are enjoying your day, see you again soon for some more lovelies.

Scrapbook Saturday

Hello!  We’ve had a glorious sunny day today and I’m really pleased as it was the St George’s Day parade for Northampton’s Scouts today, it wouldn’t have been fun cold and wet!
I have decided that I want to start a series of blog posts about my scrapbooking, I have two quick layouts for today.  Because of the parade I’ve had to pull some pics from my ‘archive’.  I’m not a natural ‘scrapper’ but was talked into helping a member of my down-line run a monthly group – I am nearly converted!
This first double page spread is one that I designed for our monthly scrapbook club.  The pages are still damp in this picture as I've spritzed the background.

This next page uses the lovely Afternoon Daydream simply scrappin’ kit and was a layout that we got shown at a team training session a while back now – it’s still one of my favourites!

So, like I said a very quick one for today.  Come back soon for more crafty goodies!

Tea for Two meets Oh Hello!

Now don't all fall over in shock but I've managed to post every day for 5 days!  Today I wanted to share some pictures from my March classes.  This class was based around the beautiful Tea for Two product suite.  I got my inspiration a long time ago and am sorry that I can’t remember where all of it came from, if you think you deserve the credit please send me a quick message and I can add your details :)

This is based on a card by the very talented Julie, I am always inspired by her work!

DSCF2744I showed the ladies a few ways to colour the gorgeous ribbon trim, here I used a marker and spritzed with water.

A great use for Stampin' Up! buttons

Sorry it's a late one tonight, I've had a full day!  Today's share is a little different, it's the birthday gift that I made my cousin a while back.  She turned 11 so I  decided to make her 11 pairs of earrings.  I used flat headed earring posts and prettied them up with a variety of out buttons and in colour dahlias.  I used crystal effects to adhere the buttons and a couple of cheap sponges to hold them while they dried.

DSCF2736

This is the birthday card that I made to go along with the gift, I can’t take the credit for the original idea, but unfortunately it’s a long time since I made it so if you think you should be credited please let me know.

DSCF2738

Here they are together – cute don’t you think?  I hope you like today’s makes, pop back soon for some more lovelies :)

Masculine Swaps

Hello! Today I’ve got some pictures of some of the AMAZING swaps that I receive at our team training session yesterday so be warned, this post is a little ‘photo heavy’.  Whenever a group of demo’s get together we like to swap, sometimes it’s card fronts, sometimes it’s 3d items, sometimes there is a theme, sometimes not.  Whatever the swap is, it is usually one of my favourite parts of an event.  This time the theme was masculine – something I find quite tricky.  I shared my card yesterday so now onto the beauties that I received.  Where I have details I have added a link to the demo’s blog – just click on the name below the picture. (Edited - it was bought to my attention that the links weren't working.  Sorry about that, they are now fixed) If a swap wasn’t labelled I’ve just put unknown – if it’s yours let me know so I can credit you :)

2013-04-15 12.07.10_wmFrom top left round clockwise – Irene, Unknown, Jane, Juliet.

2013-04-15 12.06.30_wm From top left round clockwise – Paloma, Netty (I think! A fab 3d card that folds flat), Unkown, Sue.

2013-04-15 12.05.14_wm  From top left round clockwise – Unknown, Jo, Emma (cute Lego blocks!).
2013-04-15 12.03.43_wm  From top left round clockwise – Helen, Alison, Jenie, Beth

2013-04-15 12.02.36_wm From top left round clockwise – Christa, Monica, Vanessa, Daniel (I love pacman!)

2013-04-15 12.02.05_wm From top left round clockwise – Jane (I love the real stitching and the little fabric hanky!), Michelle, Rebecca, Donna.

That’s me for today, have a good one!

Time for a change....

Yep! That's right, you may have already heard that with the launch of the new 2013-2014 catalogue on July 1st Stampin' Up! are introducing 10 new core colours.  In order to have the new colours we are saying goodbye to some old ones so if you have a favourite be sure to get in touch and stock up soon.
Here's a quick video from Stampin' Up! showing what the colour families will look like in the flesh.

Where does the time go?

Goodness! How is it a month since I last posted?

It's been a very busy month, Wedding Fairs, scrapbook clubs, card classes, Easter Holidays.... and that's just a taster!  I am scheduling some posts for the coming week or so, this means that I can update you with all that has been going on, what's coming up and share my recent makes with you.

For today I'd like to share a sneaky peek of my swaps that I am making for our quarterly team training day tomorrow.  Yes you read correctly "making" not yet 'made' and I need them for tomorrow!!!

I really enjoy swapping at the events that we have as Stampin' Up! demonstrators, it's a great chance to share ideas and I love to see what other people do!  Pop back tomorrow to see my finished item.
