12 Weeks of Christmas – Week 10

Hello! Well it’s just 3 weeks till the big day, are you all ready?  I'm totally NOT!

01ad42d75c0c5e7107c6e12e3768068b7baecee5e3

Today I want to share with you a gorgeous scrapbook layout designed by my lovely downline Georgie for our monthly class.  If you are local to Northampton and would like to have a go at Scrapbooking then come along and join us.  We are a really friendly group who meet on the first Tuesday of the month in the hall at St Crispin's retirement village.  The session runs from 7.30 – 9.30 pm and costs just £10 which includes all materials and refreshments. (normally cake!)

All you need to bring along is a basic tool kit.  Contact me if you’d like more information.
Here is the complete layout, a gorgeous forest of trees with glimmering stars!  In the photo above you can see how Georgie has added texture to the snow using an embossing folder and the bigshot.

MDS Postcard

A very quick post from convention!
I’ve just attended the “Say YES to MDS” class and we made a super quick Christmas postcard.

Say Yes to MDS-002

Come back soon for some more convention updates!

Convention Gift

Hello! It's a very late post today (or early depending on how you look at it) Today is the first day of Stampin' Up! annual convention. For those of you that don't know this year we are in Manchester, last year was Germany, and the year before that was France.

I already have a huge pile of goodies but before I go to bed I wanted to share the most AMAZING gift that I received from my lovely upline Monica.

What a darling, an angel for my Christmas tree packaged in one of our Tag a Bag gift boxes. Here she is out of her box

Wow! Fringed burlap ribbon on the bottom of her dress and for her hair and a gorgeous champagne glimmer paper crown, finished with a doily and a glimmer 'love'. Thank you Monica, I love her!

Come back soon or visit my Stampin' with Vicky Facebook page for lots more convention updates over the next few days.

12 Weeks of Christmas–week 8

Eeek it’s only 4 weeks till the big day!  I have done a fair chunk of shopping but still need to get for hubby and some of my nephews plus al of the in-laws, I’m sure I’ll find the time – somewhere!

Anyway on to today’s project it’s actually two cute little boxes, here they are

01e14d3980593be354f5dbe21a9f1721ff4c59adb8

This first one is one of the cute little window boxes from the Christmas catalogue and I actually made it a while ago at a training event run by my upline – Monica.

I loved the spots and the bow on top so decided to make this one for a recent event I did with my downline Georgie, this time I’ve used the DSP stack to create the bow.

Stampissimo!

3 weeks ago I got a phone call from Paula Gorry the UK manager for Stampin’ Up! asking me if I would like to go to the European offices in Frankfurt and shoot a video.  YES! Was my response. (well actually I think it was more like eeeeeeeek!!!)  The brief was to design a project (card set, scrapbbok layout etc) that used items from the main Annual Catalogue.  I was also asked to make it fairly generic so not Christmas, valentines etc and also not to use too many different products.  Oh and it was only a week until the shoot was booked!  All I can say is thank goodness it was half term and hubby would be home to free me up a little to do some design work :)

So the day before the shoot I flew out to Frankfurt, and spent a lovely relaxing evening at the hotel.  I had an amazing meal in the restaurant and even treated myself to a glass of wine before having an early night.  On the day of the shoot I woke up and my voice had gone, well not quite gone but it was very hoarse, I could have cried!  With lots of lemsip and throat lozenges as well as help from Charlotte and the team shooting the video I got through it.  Here’s a shot of Stefan taking a picture of Charlotte and I.

I had lots of fun, and it was great to meet the staff in the office too and put names to faces.  Here’s me with Andre and Chris, the support staff for the UK demonstrators.

And finally, here is the link to the video on you tube.  I’d love it if you could leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Testing testing....

I am just doing a quick test post from my phone to see if I can blog whilst at Stampin' Up! Convention later this week! I am very excited and sure that there will be lots to share :)

So just to test pics too here is a new baby card I made recently for a very good friend.

12 Weeks of Christmas–week 5

Hello! I am sorry this weeks post is a little late!  It’s half term so things have been really busy at home.  Today I wanted to share a gift wrapping idea for you, and coincidentally Stampin’ Up! have an offer running that ties in with my project.  I will be back later this evening with the offer.

So I've taken one of the extra large gift boxes from the Seasonal catalogue and made it a bit more special!  I used the chevron punch to create the ‘ribbon’ around the outside.  I then created a special bow using the Pretty Presents Designer Bows – a great value kit with 2 different sizes of die cut bows.

For this project I have used two of each size bow and snipped into them before building them up to create a fancy bow for the box.

Can you believe it’s less than 8 weeks till Christmas!  Eeek!

Betsy’s Thank You Notes

I promised to share something a bit different with you today so no Christmas nut instead something bright and cheery!

Some customer Thank You cards I made using Betsy’s Blossoms and Bitty Banners, 2 of the 25 stamp sets that have 25% off until October 28th.  I kept it a very simple one layer card and took inspiration from a quick google images search, my colours are Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Gumball Green and Strawberry Slush.

DSCF3321

Here’s a closer look, Bitty Banners also has a matching framelits set which makes them so easy to cut out and add depth to a project.  If you missed my post with about the 25% off sale you can check it out here.

12 Weeks of Christmas–week 3

Good evening! I’m sorry that this post is late, it has just been one of those days.
Today I am going to share my first 5 designs for my monthly Christmas card club.  I really enjoy making these cards!  I keep them fairly simple as they need to be wast to reproduce and also 'post friendly' too so I don't use any big embellishments.  I do a lot of web browsing and sketching when planning these cards, but don't always note down the details, if you think any of my cards may be based on one of yours please let me know so I can give you credit.

01a909144038f702f3cb88471dc13d32074b364889

The colours for this first card are Baked Brown Sugar, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Soft Suede.  I have used the Ornament Keepsakes set which is on carryover from last year.

01b8b98f36b3a3a751808f9e1499ec39f9dad34059

Colours in the second card are Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip with a touch of Silver Glimmer paper.  The tree is stamped using Pennant Parade.

011e0b474a84fd53804b638ec77a3b9bd3fa2a37b0

Another pennant card but this time using the punch and some lovely Coastal Cabana dsp teamed with Raspberry Ripple.  Super quick and easy!

017bc888aaccc8d64204d148910bfc6176b510fe19

Apologies for this picture!  This card is based on a swap I received at a team training session in August, I think from a lady called Claire.  I've used the 'splodge' from Gorgeous Grunge and the Mosaic Madness set with it's coordinating punch.  Colours are Real Red, Gumball Green and Whisper White.

0142bccf86a1e19f2d3865bf94cf3181bf935a821a

Finally a card using a super fun set called 'Happy Hour'  We used markers to colour in the individual parts then built the image up.  Texture from the Northern Flurries embossing folder finishes it off.
